Maofeng Green Tea from Huangshan is a traditional Chinese green tea from Anhui Province, originating from the famous Yellow Mountains, one of China’s most respected tea-growing regions. The misty mountain climate, high humidity, and slow growth of tea plants create ideal conditions for developing delicate aromas and a smooth, elegant taste.

Harvested during the Gu Yu spring season, this Mao Feng offers a beautiful balance between freshness and depth. Compared with very early spring teas, Gu Yu harvests develop a fuller body, richer aroma, and more rounded flavour while preserving the refined character typical of high-quality Mao Feng teas.

The tea is carefully processed using traditional green tea methods to preserve the natural appearance and freshness of the leaves. The name Mao Feng, meaning “Furry Peak,” refers to the fine white hairs on the young buds and the graceful shape of the tender spring leaves.

The clear yellow-green infusion reveals elegant aromas of orchid flowers, fresh spring shoots, sweet grains, and delicate chestnut notes. The taste is smooth, naturally sweet, and harmonious, with a soft floral character, gentle nutty nuances, and a clean refreshing finish.

Preparation:

Western style: Use 4–5 g of tea per 200 ml of water at 75–85 °C. Steep for 1–2 minutes. Suitable for multiple infusions.

Gong Fu Cha: Use 7–8 g of tea per 150 ml of water at 75–85 °C. Steep the first infusion for 15–20 seconds, then gradually increase the steeping time. The tea provides around 5–6 balanced infusions.
