Verdelandia Nativa Premium is a traditional chimarrao, with a coarser cut and a bright green color. The aroma of dry mate is grassy, ​​with dill and vegetable (even pepper) notes. The first infusions are very pronounced, quite bitter, again with a pronounced nettle hint, with later infusions the taste changes to creamy. Chimarrao differs significantly in color, structure and taste from Argentine, Paraguayan or Uruguayan yerba and looks more like Matcha green tea - a powder made from finely chopped leaves with a small amount of twigs. It is usually vacuum-packed within the first week after harvest, thus maintaining a higher level of chlorophyll, which gives it a bright neon green color. Verdelandia is a traditional family business that was founded in 1985. It was one of the first in the state of Paraná to start vacuum packaging, thanks to which mate retains its freshness much longer. In addition to the traditional chimarrao, in recent years it has also focused on the production of tereré. The company takes a sustainable approach, which is why it invests heavily in reforestation and plants new Paraguayan holly trees, from which it then harvests the raw product for the production of mate (the mate is then labeled Nativa).
