Tie Guan Yin charcoal-roasted oolong is a traditionally processed tea from Xianghua village in Anxi County, Fujian Province. It features tightly rolled dark leaves, indicating a higher level of oxidation and roast. As is standard in China (unlike in Taiwan), the finished tea leaves are free of stems. Unlike the popular modern, lightly oxidized Tie Guan Yin from Anxi, this traditional version undergoes multiple careful roasts over pinewood charcoal. What's more, this tea has been aging under expert care in Anxi since 2019 and has been re-roasted several times during the process. The charcoal roasting brings out a complex flavor profile, balancing roasted spiciness with sweet floral notes. The resulting infusion is a clear amber liquor with a toasty floral aroma. The warm flavors are smooth and balanced, with a pronounced roasted and floral character. As with all roasted teas, this one stores well and is ideal for further aging.Additional parameters
