Quero Quero Chimarrao Nativa is traditional chimarrao made from the leaves of wild-grown yerba maté trees. The aroma of dry maté is grassy-herbal. The dry maté is bright green due to the fast processing method. The flavor is creamy with herbal to vegetable tones. Chimarrao is distinctly different in color, texture, and flavor from Argentine, Paraguayan, or Uruguayan yerba, and it looks more like Matcha green tea—a powder from finely chopped leaves with a small amount of stems. It is usually vacuum-packed within the first week after harvest, retaining higher chlorophyll levels, giving it a bright neon green color. In 1989, Verdelandia acquired a second yerba maté brand - Quero-Quero. Verdelandia is a traditional family business founded in 1985. It was one of the first in the state of Paraná to start vacuum packing, which keeps maté fresh much longer. In addition to traditional chimarrao, it has also focused on producing tereré in recent years. The company adheres to a sustainable approach, intensively investing in reforestation and planting new holly trees, from which the raw product for maté production is harvested once they mature.
