This tea is cultivated at an elevation of 800 meters above sea level in the small Lugu region of Taiwan's Nantou District. It’s a relatively recent variety, with regular production beginning around 1980. The tea is harvested 4 to 6 times a year, including during the winter. Each harvest collects one bud, one tender leaf, and two mature leaves. Typically picked on sunny days, the leaves are sun-dried to initiate oxidation, which continues within traditional circular bamboo trays. The resulting infusion boasts a honey-colored hue and a floral fragrance. Its flavor is exquisitely delicate, with sweet, lightly buttery notes—and it's equally delightful served cold.
